What is The School Yoga Project?
The School Yoga Project is a six-week, in-school wellbeing programme designed specifically for Key Stage 2 (KS2) children. Blending yoga, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques, it equips pupils with practical tools to:

Improve concentration

Develop healthy coping strategies

Relax and self-regulate
Rooted in the belief that education should nurture the whole child, this programme addresses essential life skills often overlooked in traditional curricula. Our aim is to support children in becoming happier, healthier, and more resilient individuals.


Curriculum Alignment
The programme closely supports the Health and Wellbeing core theme of the PSHE curriculum, particularly the Mental Health strand. Each session is designed around PSHE learning outcomes and reinforces key concepts through movement, breathwork, and discussion.
Links are also made with the Physical Education curriculum through group and whole-class movement sessions, ensuring a fully integrated approach.

How it Works

Format: Small group sessions (up to 10 mixed KS2 pupils)

Frequency: Weekly 45-minute sessions during school hours

Led by: A fully qualified Yoga Teacher and experienced Primary School Teacher

Resources: All materials and equipment are provided
Optional add-on: Full class yoga-based PE sessions available on the same day.

This programme is eligible for Sports Premium Funding, making it an accessible investment in your pupils' mental health and wellbeing.
